Yesterday, we arrived home from Narooma after two weeks of
fishing, beach, sea, sun and fun. Almost every day we went fishing either from
the boat or from the shore. Both ways, we caught heaps of fish. But I caught only
one fish that was legal size. Most of
the time we fished from the boat with bait and that is how I caught my legal
sized fish, a tailor. We also caught many snapper, bream and mudeye. When we
fished from the shore we used soft plastics instead of bait. We caught many
small flathead and some legal size fish. My favourite type was boat fishing
because I could sit down and relax.

Another thing we
did almost every day was going to the beach. At Narooma there is a special
beach that is protected from the wind by a man-made rock wall. It also has a
shark net to protect the wild life and the humans who swim in the water. Inside
the net, it is a great spot for snorkelling, collecting shells and swimming.
One day we were snorkelling and we found a puffer fish (Kugelfisch), and some
small plate sized stingrays (Stachelrochen). We also played a stupid ball game were
you throw the ball into the water, then run in and try to get back up the beach
past a line in the sand. The only difficult part about the game was getting
past the other people who were playing the game without losing the ball. I
always won the game and only lost five times out of about 50.
Now we are back
home and I wish I was still in Narooma. It went too quick!! And now Johanna and
I have only two weeks left in Australia, it has gone too quickly as well.
See you soon
